About
Made by Kaylynn Rohde, founder of Nexus Point Family Foundation.
Nexus Point Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Kansas City area that works with families from pregnancy through a child's eighteenth birthday. Its site is nexuspointfamily.org.
What Nexus Point Family Foundation has built
- A blog of plain-language bill explainers. It covers the Child Tax Credit, paid family leave, WIC and SNAP funding, universal school meals, diaper need, kinship and foster care, maternal health and housing vouchers. Read the blog.
- A petition and letter tool for zero-cost birth. It supports the Supporting Healthy Moms and Babies Act (S.1834 and H.R.3762). You can add your name to the petition, and the page gives you a letter to personalize and paste into your lawmaker's contact form. Take action.
- A county directory of family help. In Missouri it covers 1,300 places and programs in 114 counties, each with an address, a phone number, and hours where they're known. Browse Missouri by county.
- The Family Barter System. Families give away cribs, strollers, coats and school supplies to other families in their county for free.
- Renewal reminders. It emails you 30, 14 and 3 days before each benefit renewal date with the papers to gather, with no account and no cost.
How bill statuses are checked here
Every federal status on this site comes from the bill's own record on congress.gov, and every Missouri status comes from the Missouri House or Senate bill pages. Each article says the date the status was checked, because a bill can move between that date and the day you read it.
